The LG Gram 17 is less expensive and highly portable with its lighter weight and longer battery life, making it suitable for general use and productivity on the go. It has a solid performance for everyday tasks but limited capabilities for 3D rendering or intensive gaming. The MSI Raider GE78, on the other hand, is costlier and heavier with shorter battery life, but offers top-notch performance for 3D modeling, machine learning, and gaming due to its more powerful processor and GPU. It is less portable but excels in power-intensive engineering tasks and high-end gaming experiences. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE78 is best in class for gaming and AI, while the LG Gram 17 is only fair.
The LG Gram 17 features an Iris Xe GPU which provides decent performance for gaming and 3D applications, but it pales in comparison with the MSI Raider GE78's significantly more powerful Nvidia RTX 4090, which is top-of-the-line for these tasks. Additionally, the MSI Raider GE78 has a much higher screen refresh rate, which at 240Hz greatly outperforms the LG Gram 17's 60Hz, delivering smoother visuals particularly beneficial in fast-paced gaming scenarios.

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the LG Gram 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the LG Gram 17's larger screen and high resolution offer a clear and sharp image, but its lower brightness compared to the MSI Raider GE78 may make it less ideal in brightly-lit environments. When it comes to engineering and design, both laptops have high-resolution displays that cover a wide range of colors, but the MSI Raider's possibly superior color accuracy can be crucial for professionals needing precise color representation. However, in gaming and 3D contexts, the MSI Raider falls short due to its lower refresh rate, which can hinder the smoothness of fast-moving images, a drawback less significant on the LG Gram 17 despite its other limitations.

How the LG Gram 17 and the MSI Raider GE78 compare to other laptops
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
