The LG Gram 16 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The LG Gram 16 boasts a higher resolution and brightness, making it ideal for vibrant and clear visuals needed in general use and detailed work such as engineering and design due to its superior color accuracy. However, its lower refresh rate limits its performance in gaming and 3D applications where fluid motion is crucial. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 provides adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks and professional work but doesn't excel in any specific area, and like the LG Gram, it falls short for gaming due to a modest refresh rate.

The LG Gram 16 and MSI Modern 14 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The LG Gram 16 and MSI Modern 14 are both considered fair for gaming and 3D because their integrated GPUs, the Iris Xe in the LG Gram 16 and Vega 7 in the MSI Modern 14, provide modest graphics capabilities, alongside standard screen refresh rates of 60Hz that are adequate but not ideal for fast-paced gaming. Additionally, both have good screen quality, with the LG offering a higher resolution, enhancing visual details which is beneficial for graphical content, but neither are built specifically for gaming which requires more powerful GPUs and higher refresh rates.

How the LG Gram 16 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
