The Lenovo V15 generally offers a solid build with a focus on business-oriented features and might have a slight edge in terms of durability and keyboard comfort, which is great for productivity and general use. The MSI Modern 14, on the other hand, is typically designed with a focus on portability and aesthetics, often featuring a more lightweight design and better screen resolution, which could make it preferable for users who prioritize travel and media consumption. It might also provide better performance for creative tasks such as photo and video editing due to better graphics capabilities. If your use case includes frequent mobility or multimedia tasks, the MSI Modern 14 might suit you better. However, if you prefer a robust, business-oriented machine and possibly better typing experience, the Lenovo V15 could be more appropriate. Give Feedback

The MSI Modern 14 has a better screen than the Lenovo V15 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Lenovo V15's screen likely suffers due to low brightness and resolution, making it less ideal for any detailed work or entertainment. For engineering and design, this screen's limited color gamut may result in inaccurate color representation, crucial for precise visual tasks. MSI Modern 14, while offering better resolution and brightness for everyday tasks, falls short for 3D applications due to a lackluster refresh rate, which is vital for smooth visual experiences.

The Lenovo V15 and MSI Modern 14 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Lenovo V15 typically has a modest GPU and standard screen refresh rate, which allows for gaming and 3D tasks but may not handle high-end graphics smoothly, whereas the MSI Modern 14, while also not top-tier for gaming, often comes with a stronger CPU and better screen quality, enhancing overall performance and visuals for those applications. Both laptops can manage casual gaming and basic 3D work but aren't designed for the demands of more intensive and graphics-heavy games or professional 3D rendering.

The MSI Modern 14 and Lenovo V15 are both only fair for engineering and design.
The Lenovo V15, with its AMD Ryzen 5 CPU and integrated Vega graphics, offers a larger screen but its TN panel provides lower color fidelity and viewing angles than the MSI Modern 14, which sports a similar AMD Ryzen 5 CPU and graphics but has a higher quality IPS display for better screen quality. Despite both having similar RAM, the MSI is more portable due to its smaller screen size and weight, and it also has a backlit keyboard and higher contrast ratio, but both could see a drop in performance under intensive engineering workloads due to their shared moderate CPU and GPU capabilities.

How the Lenovo V15 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"The strengths of the Lenovo V15 G2 AMD lie in its expandability of the RAM and allowing you to use two SSDs, in its performance that goes beyond everyday applications thanks to AMD's hexa-core CPU and Vega-7 iGPU, in its good keyboard, and its relatively robust case. In addition, the battery life of the office laptop is also acceptable, and the device stays cool and relatively quiet."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
