The Acer Swift X (2021) is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo V15 is only fair.
The Acer Swift X offers superior GPU performance with an Nvidia RTX 3050, making it more suitable for engineering and design tasks that require intensive graphics processing, whereas the Lenovo V15 uses integrated AMD graphics which are less powerful. Furthermore, the Acer Swift X has a higher quality IPS screen which is better for color accuracy and viewing angles, an important aspect for design work, in contrast to the Lenovo's TN panel with lower color coverage and contrast.

The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Lenovo V15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Acer Swift X offers a display with higher resolution and brightness, which enhances the viewing experience for both general use and detailed tasks like engineering and design, where sharpness and vibrant colors matter. Color gamut coverage is crucial for engineering and design professionals to ensure accurate color representation, and the Acer Swift X excels in this area, providing broader ranges of Adobe RGB and DCI-P3, which the Lenovo V15 lacks. Gamers and those involved in 3D work often prioritize a high refresh rate for smoother visuals; the Acer Swift X doesn't meet this preference, which is less of an issue for the Lenovo V15, given its overall poor screen performance.

The Acer Swift X (2021) and Lenovo V15 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift X has a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU which offers better gaming performance than the integrated Vega 7 graphics on the Lenovo V15's AMD Ryzen CPU, however, both laptops are constrained by a max screen refresh rate of 60Hz, which limits the smoothness during fast-paced game play. The Swift X is generally considered to have a higher quality screen due to its IPS panel, which provides better color and viewing angles compared to the TN panel of the V15, but both share a standard full HD resolution which offers fair display clarity for gaming and 3D applications.

How the Acer Swift X (2021) and the Lenovo V15 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The strengths of the Lenovo V15 G2 AMD lie in its expandability of the RAM and allowing you to use two SSDs, in its performance that goes beyond everyday applications thanks to AMD's hexa-core CPU and Vega-7 iGPU, in its good keyboard, and its relatively robust case. In addition, the battery life of the office laptop is also acceptable, and the device stays cool and relatively quiet."
