The Lenovo Slim 7 16 offers better battery life and a higher screen resolution with touch capability, making it suited for both general use and light-to-medium engineering tasks. It's also lighter and thus more portable. However, the MSI GP66 Leopard features a much more powerful GPU and an older yet efficient CPU, rendering it ideal for 3D rendering, machine learning, and intensive gaming, despite it being heavier and having a shorter battery life. The MSI is also known for higher heat and fan noise management. Choose the Lenovo for a balance of performance and portability, or the MSI for maximum performance at the cost of battery life and portability. Give Feedback

The MSI GP66 Leopard is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo Slim 7 16 is only fair.
The MSI GP66 Leopard offers better gaming and 3D performance than the Lenovo Slim 7 16 primarily because it features a more powerful Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU compared to the RTX 3050 in the Lenovo, leading to more detailed and smoother visual experiences. Additionally, while the Lenovo's screen has a higher resolution and refresh rate, the MSI's CPU is typically considered stronger for gaming, complementing its superior GPU to better handle demanding gaming and 3D tasks.

The Lenovo Slim 7 16 has a better screen than the MSI GP66 Leopard for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
In general use, the Lenovo Slim 7 16's screen shines with its high resolution and brightness, making for a clear and vibrant display that works well for daily tasks and entertainment. For engineering and design, the color accuracy and the breadth of colors that the Lenovo can display become crucial, which it handles well, ensuring that designs and projects appear with true-to-life colors. However, for gaming or working with 3D content, the Lenovo falls short as it lacks the high refresh rates that provide smoother motion and better gaming experience, which is less of an issue for the MSI GP66 Leopard, although it doesn't excel in this area either.

How the Lenovo Slim 7 16 and the MSI GP66 Leopard compare to other laptops
"At $1,011, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro is a real bargain among full-sized laptops, with a handsome 16-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio touch screen, a speedy CPU, a comfortable keyboard, ample memory, and a roomy solid-state drive. It's not a blazing gaming rig or mobile workstation, but it doesn't pretend to be. Its biggest negative is that it may be hard to find—during our review, it sold out and was marked "Temporarily Unavailable" on Lenovo's site."
"The MSI GP66 Leopard is a good budget high-performance gamer. The MSI also does a lot right outside of the pure performance despite it's low price. For example, the adaptive cooling system really surprised us positively, even in Extreme Performance Mode. And the display is not a budget panel either, but at least outshines the competition in terms of brightness. Of course, you also have to accept a few compromises in this price category. These include the Leopard's poor battery runtimes and the less than optimal build quality, which is also noticeable in the more complicated maintenance."
