The Lenovo LOQ 16i is a solid choice for those who prioritize performance in tasks like gaming and engineering, thanks to its dedicated Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU and higher refresh rate screen, which is great for fast-moving visuals. It's also more future-proof with Thunderbolt 4 ports and offers a number pad, which is handy for data entry. However, it's larger and heavier, making it less portable than the ThinkBook 13s. The battery life is also shorter, and it has a lower pixel density, which means the screen isn't as sharp. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s is ideal for general use and professionals who need a compact, lightweight laptop with excellent battery life. Its high-resolution touchscreen with better color accuracy is fantastic for everyday tasks and content consumption. It also comes with Windows 11 Pro, which offers additional security features for business users. The ThinkBook 13s is more expensive but justifies the price with its portability, build quality, and a more comprehensive set of ports, including Thunderbolt 3. However, it falls short in gaming and intensive engineering tasks due to its integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. Ultimately, choose the LOQ 16i for better gaming and engineering performance at the expense of portability and battery life, or opt for the ThinkBook 13s if you value a compact design, longer battery life, and a superior display for general productivity and business use. NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | September 2023
"Gaming laptops with an RTX 4060 are available starting from about 1,000 Euros (~$1,060), even in 16-inch format. For the supposedly affordable Lenovo LOQ 16 (1,500 Euros, ~$1,591), the manufacturer particularly saves in the equipment and materials compared to the more expensive Legion series. In addition, the LOQ is slightly heavier and more bulky. What remains is anything but a laptop full of difficult compromises. Instead, this is a more than solid gaming laptop that focusses on the 3D performance.Q is slightly heavier and more bulky."

The Verge

Monica Chin | July 2021
"The best thing about the ThinkBook 13S is that it’s a good deal. Business buyers looking for ThinkPad-level performance and software without ThinkPad pricing will probably find the ThinkBook a solid option. While nothing about it is really spectacular, it’s certainly unusual to see the ThinkBook’s screen resolution at a sub-$1,000 price, and its performance will be more than adequate for most office tasks. The generous port selection, 16:10 aspect ratio, physical webcam shutter, and clear audio are certainly icing on the cake."
