The Lenovo LOQ 16i offers a balance of performance and value, suitable for general use with some gaming and engineering capabilities, thanks to its Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU and high refresh rate screen, which is great for fast-moving visuals. It's also more portable and has a longer battery life, making it a good choice for users who need to work on the go. However, it has a lower resolution display and less coverage of professional color spaces, which might not be ideal for professional photo or video editing. In contrast, the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 is designed for professional use, featuring a high-resolution display with excellent color accuracy, making it ideal for tasks that require precision, such as engineering or graphic design. Its more powerful Nvidia RTX A1000 GPU and higher performance CPU will handle intensive tasks more efficiently. It also has a more robust build quality and a better keyboard, which is beneficial for extended work sessions. However, it's pricier, has a lower refresh rate screen which isn't as good for gaming, and its shorter battery life and heavier design make it less portable. Choose the LOQ 16i for a balance of performance and portability with better gaming capabilities, or the ThinkPad P16 for superior display quality and performance in professional applications, if you don't mind the higher price, reduced portability, and shorter battery life. NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | September 2023
"Gaming laptops with an RTX 4060 are available starting from about 1,000 Euros (~$1,060), even in 16-inch format. For the supposedly affordable Lenovo LOQ 16 (1,500 Euros, ~$1,591), the manufacturer particularly saves in the equipment and materials compared to the more expensive Legion series. In addition, the LOQ is slightly heavier and more bulky. What remains is anything but a laptop full of difficult compromises. Instead, this is a more than solid gaming laptop that focusses on the 3D performance.Q is slightly heavier and more bulky."

PCMag

Eric Grevstad | February 2023
"It's only a few months since we gave the MSI CreatorPro X17 one of our rare 4.5-star ratings and our top mobile workstation honor, but the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 1 matches that achievement in a more premium overall build. Ultimately, its build quality, screen, and keyboard give our latest Editors' Choice nod to the Lenovo—it's enough of a monster on almost all fronts that it simply cannot be ignored."
