The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" is very good for gaming and AI, while the LG Gram 17 is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a superior graphics card, the Nvidia RTX 4060, and a higher screen refresh rate for smoother visuals, which are essential for gaming and 3D applications. In comparison, the LG Gram 17, despite its capable Iris Xe graphics, falls short in those aspects but benefits from a larger screen and lighter weight for better portability.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" and LG Gram 17 are both very good for engineering and design, though the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" is somewhat better.
The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" is very well-suited for engineering and design due to its powerful AMD processor, ample RAM, and dedicated Nvidia RTX GPU which excels in tasks requiring intensive graphics processing, complemented by a high-quality, high-refresh-rate display. On the other hand, the LG Gram 17 offers more storage and double the RAM, which is beneficial for multitasking and large projects, and integrates a high-resolution screen with excellent color accuracy, but it relies on an integrated GPU, making it less ideal for graphics-intensive applications yet more portable due to its lighter weight.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a better screen than the LG Gram 17 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the LG Gram 17 has a better screen for content creation.
For general use, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7's screen likely offers sharp, clear images with vibrant colors due to its high resolution and brightness, providing an enjoyable viewing experience for everyday tasks. Engineers and designers will appreciate the wide color gamuts on the Lenovo, as this allows more accurate color representation for professional work. However, gamers and 3D users may find the Lenovo's screen lacking due to a lower refresh rate, which can result in less fluid motion during fast-paced scenes.

How the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" and the LG Gram 17 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
