For a balance of performance and portability with a high-quality display suited for engineering tasks, gaming, and general use, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (2024) is the superior choice. It offers a powerful Intel i7 processor and a dedicated Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU, ensuring excellent performance for demanding applications and games. The high-resolution 16-inch screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio is ideal for detailed work and smooth visuals. Although it's pricier and heavier than the Maypug, the Legion Pro 5i's robust build, better battery life, and advanced features like a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, and Thunderbolt ports justify the cost for users needing a high-performance machine. On the other hand, if budget is a primary concern and you require a laptop mainly for general use such as web browsing, document editing, and media consumption, the Maypug 15" Laptop is a cost-effective option. It's more affordable, lighter, and has a decent battery life. However, its lower-end Celeron processor and integrated graphics significantly limit its capability for gaming, 3D rendering, or intensive engineering tasks. The display is also less impressive, with a lower resolution and refresh rate, which might not be suitable for professional visual work or high-end gaming. In summary, choose the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (2024) for its superior performance, display quality, and feature set, especially if you're involved in gaming, machine learning, or engineering tasks. Opt for the Maypug 15" Laptop if your needs are more basic and you're looking for an economical and portable device for everyday tasks. Give Feedback

PCMag

Brian Westover | August 2023
"The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value."
