The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro is often less expensive and offers a good balance for both gaming and general use with a high refresh rate display, efficient heat management, and a powerful processor and GPU combo. However, it is less portable than some laptops and has a shorter battery life. The MSI Raider GE77Hx is more expensive but comes with a larger screen, more storage, and a better battery life, making it suitable for intensive gaming and demanding tasks. It has a higher weight, which impacts portability, and despite its exceptional power, it might be overkill for users with moderate computing needs. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE77Hx has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i for gaming and AI, content creation, and software development.
When considering general use, such as browsing the web or office applications, both the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i and the MSI Raider GE77Hx stand out with their high resolution and bright displays, ensuring crisp and clear visuals. For engineering and design tasks, the importance of color accuracy and a wide color gamut means both laptops fare well, offering a rich and precise representation of colors. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fluid motion is crucial, the lower refresh rates of these laptops' screens can hinder the experience, as they may not keep up with fast-paced action smoothly.

How the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i and the MSI Raider GE77Hx compare to other laptops
"The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value."
"The MSI Raider GE77 offers a lot of power for a lot of money. The main components consist of a Core i9-12900HX CPU, a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU (175 watts TGP, 16 GB VRAM), and 64 GB of RAM, which makes for a high overall performance level. The GeForce GPU in particular scores some of the highest scores we have seen from this chip. Both the CPU and the GPU are able to run at continuously high clock speeds. The relatively high heat and noise emissions match our expectations for this device class. With approximately 5.5 to 6.5 hours, the battery life is good for a powerful 4K laptop."
