The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is geared more towards gaming and demanding tasks with its higher-performing graphics card, while the MSI Prestige 14 focuses on portability and battery efficiency with its integrated graphics. For heavier loads such as 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming, the Lenovo Legion will handle these better. However, the MSI might suffice for general use and is lighter, making it easier to carry around. If long periods away from power outlets or frequent travel are common for you, the MSI Prestige 14's longer battery life and lighter weight can be beneficial. Conversely, if your priority is performance for more intensive tasks and you're okay with a heavier laptop, the Lenovo Legion 5 would be the preferable option. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is very good for engineering and design, while the MSI Prestige 14 is good.
The Lenovo Legion 5 15" excels for engineering and design with its potent AMD Ryzen 7 processor; Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU ensures smooth graphics handling, and the high-resolution IPS screen delivers crisp visuals. In contrast, the MSI Prestige 14, while offering good CPU performance with its Intel i5 and onboard graphics suitable for lighter tasks, shines in portability and higher battery life, though its screen is less sharp and vibrant.

The Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen than the MSI Prestige 14 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Lenovo Legion 5's display provides crisp and vibrant visuals suitable for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work due to its high resolution and wide color gamut, but its lower refresh rate is less optimal for 3D applications and gaming, where smoother motion is key. The MSI Prestige 14 also offers a high-resolution screen with good color accuracy that caters to professional design needs and general computing, yet its gaming and 3D performance is limited by a refresh rate not intended for the high-speed graphics of those use cases. Both laptops show their strengths in areas requiring clear, accurate color representation and fine detail, but neither is tailored for the high-refresh scenarios gamers and 3D designers often prefer.

The MSI Prestige 14 has very good portability, while the Lenovo Legion 5 15" has only fair portability.
The most portable laptops are small, thin, and light.
The MSI Prestige 14 and Lenovo Legion 5 15" are both good for general use.
The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is geared towards general use with its robust AMD Ryzen 7 processor and ample RAM, providing a smooth experience for a variety of tasks, while its larger screen and higher resolution contribute to superior screen quality; however, it sacrifices some portability and has a shorter battery life. On the other hand, the MSI Prestige 14, with a capable Intel i5 processor and the same amount of RAM, offers a more portable design and longer battery life, catering well to general use needs, but its smaller screen size and lower resolution might make the viewing experience less optimal compared to the Lenovo.

How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the MSI Prestige 14 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"The MSI Prestige 14” is excellent for productivity and business use cases, but it is not ideal for creators or visual content editors. The Prestige was able to power through days of email, spreadsheets, and text documents without breaking a sweat and was a joy to use. The additional ports were a breath of fresh air, as most laptops seem to be moving towards just Thunderbolt ports. The security options made signing in effortless, with two quick, more secure, and faster options than even the most complex alphanumeric passcode."
