The Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Legion 5 and the ThinkPad T14 offer sufficient resolution and brightness, making for clear, vivid displays that are easy on the eyes for everyday tasks like web browsing and document editing. When it comes to engineering and design work, where accurate color representation is crucial, both laptops provide a good range of colors, though they may not cover the full spectrum professionals might need for the most color-sensitive work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the Legion 5's lower refresh rate impacts smooth motion and responsiveness, so despite having an adequate resolution and panel type, gamers might find the experience lacking compared to laptops designed with higher refresh rates for such purposes.

How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"We like a lot about this laptop. It has many ports, with the inclusion of RJ45-Ethernet as a defining feature. WWAN is upgradable for maximum flexibility and the ThinkPad has many security functions. Working with the ThinkPad input devices is a lot of fun, and Lenovo puts in a serviceable Low Power panel. The AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U delivers a great performance and does not drain the battery fast. Fan noise and temperatures are nothing special, but also far away from bad. With the user replaceable keyboard, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 has a special feature rarely present on most modern laptops."
