If budget is a concern and you're looking for generally good performance and features, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro could be more appealing; it's less expensive and still offers solid gaming and engineering capabilities. However, if top-tier performance, especially for 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming is a priority, you might lean towards the MSI Raider GE76 despite its higher price. The Raider GE76 also has a more powerful processor and GPU, but it's heavier, which makes it less portable than the Legion 5 Pro. Bear in mind that the Raider's better specs may drain the battery faster, while the Legion offers a decent balance between performance and battery life. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE76 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is good.
The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro offers a solid balance for general use with a high-quality CPU and GPU, adequate RAM, and a high-resolution IPS screen; though its portability is limited by its weight and modest battery life. In contrast, the MSI Raider GE76 doubles the RAM and has a superior processor and GPU, coupled with a larger, brighter screen and better speaker and keyboard quality, making it very good for general use but with significantly reduced portability and battery life compared to the Legion.

The MSI Raider GE76 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When choosing between the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 and the MSI Raider GE76 for general use, consider that both offer displays with clarity and vibrancy due to their high resolution and brightness, ensuring a pleasant viewing experience for everyday tasks. For engineering and design, both laptops excel by covering a wide range of colors, which is crucial for accurately rendering visuals in professional creative work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, you might find both lacking, as they have slower refresh rates that are less suited for the fast-paced visuals required in gaming scenarios, leading to less smooth motion on screen.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers MSI Raider GE76 to be excellent for engineering and design, while the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is very good.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 provides a solid foundation for engineering and design with a capable AMD Ryzen CPU, dedicated Nvidia RTX graphics, ample RAM, and a high-quality IPS screen, yet the MSI Raider GE76 excels with a higher-end Intel CPU, more powerful Nvidia RTX graphics, doubled RAM, and a similarly high-quality display which enhance its performance in demanding tasks. The tradeoff is that the MSI model is less portable due to its larger size and weight, making the Lenovo more convenient for on-the-go use despite a slight compromise in raw power and performance.

How the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 and the MSI Raider GE76 compare to other laptops
"It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation."
"The MSI Raider GE76: with Alder Lake and RTX 3080 Ti to gaming heaven. Yes, MSI could improve some aspects (like the quality of the webcam), but the manufacturer offers a very convincing and balanced overall package. The biggest advantage is definitely the immense performance potential. The combination of Core i9-12900HK, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB DDR5 RAM and two NVMe SSDs offers a lot of performance for the next couple of years and plenty of power for 3D applications. Most titles would run smoothly on an external 4K screen no matter the quality preset. We came away impressed with the integrated 360 Hz panel's fast response times and good color accuracy."
