The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro offers a more portable and affordable option with solid performance for general use, but if you require a laptop for tasks that are more graphics-intensive, such as engineering applications, 3D rendering, or gaming, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, despite being more expensive and less portable, provides superior performance with its higher-powered CPU and GPU. The Legion also features a higher refresh rate display which is better for fast-paced games, whereas the IdeaPad has a higher resolution screen which is great for detailed work but doesn't support gaming as well. Keep in mind the Legion's gaming aesthetics when considering it for professional environments. Both have similar battery lives for typical use. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | October 2021
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."

PCMag

Mark Knapp | July 2023
"It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation."
