If you prioritize lightweight design and longer battery life for general use, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is more suitable. However, if your focus is on high performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the MSI Pulse GL66, featuring a powerful graphics card, will serve you better, though it is heavier and has a shorter battery life. The MSI also provides a higher refresh rate for smooth visuals, making it ideal for fast-paced gaming. Consider the Lenovo if portability is a priority, but choose the MSI for demanding tasks and better gaming performance. Give Feedback

The MSI Pulse GL66 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is only fair.
The MSI Pulse GL66 outperforms the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i in gaming and 3D tasks primarily because it features a powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate of 144 Hz, compared to the Slim 7i's modest integrated Iris Xe graphics and a standard 60 Hz refresh rate. The high-end GPU of the MSI Pulse GL66 is significantly better suited for demanding graphics processing, and its faster refresh rate enhances the smoothness and responsiveness during gameplay.

If you need a laptop with a sharp and bright display for everyday tasks, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i offers a better screen, ideal for reading and browsing. However, for engineering and design work where accurate colors are crucial, neither laptop excels due to limited color gamut coverage. When gaming or engaging in 3D rendering, both laptops fall short as their refresh rates are not optimized for these high-motion activities, which can result in less fluid visuals.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i and the MSI Pulse GL66 compare to other laptops
"Among Lenovo's multiple laptop brands, the IdeaPad family is decidedly the one designed for consumers: people who want decent performance at a reasonable price. Consider, then, this laptop a paragon for the pickier members of that crowd. With a 14-inch touch-enabled display, a comfortable keyboard, an Evo-certified Intel Core i7 11th Generation CPU, and the latest Windows 11 operating system, the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro ultraportable ($1,199 as tested) is a slick mainstream machine at a bit of a premium price, and quite capable for everyday tasks."
"The MSI Pulse GL66 has a lot of potential for improvement. Although the RTX 3060 is only able to use 105 watts, we still liked the gaming performance, particularly since this also makes the Pulse comfortably efficient but not slow by any means. Neither the dark display with its lame response times, nor USB 2.0 or the lack of Thunderbolt will please real gamers. The use of a sticker factory seal, which is at least questionable, also won't inspire any enthusiasm. It is obvious that the laptop is really designed for price-conscious gamers."
