If your priority is gaming or intensive tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning, the MSI Pulse GL66 is better equipped due to its powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU. However, this laptop is heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i. The IdeaPad Slim 5i is less expensive, offers a better battery life and portability, and is capable of general use and light engineering tasks with its Intel i5 processor and integrated graphics. It won't handle gaming or heavy graphics work as well as the MSI Pulse GL66, but it's a more travel-friendly option. Give Feedback

The MSI Pulse GL66 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i is only fair.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i with its Intel Iris Xe graphics falls short in rendering performance needed for smooth gaming and 3D applications compared to the MSI Pulse GL66 which features a more powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU; additionally, the MSI offers a higher screen refresh rate, which translates to smoother visuals and better gaming experiences. Screen quality and CPU performance are also important, but the GPU and refresh rate are the primary reasons for the MSI's advantage over the Lenovo IdeaPad for gaming and 3D tasks.

When considering a laptop for general use, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i and MSI Pulse GL66 may have displays that offer enough resolution and brightness, but they might not stand out in terms of exceptional panel quality. For engineering and design tasks, both laptops provide adequate color reproduction but may fall short of the high standards required for professional color work due to limited color gamut coverage. In the realm of 3D and gaming, the refresh rates on these laptops could be lacking, which means they won't provide the ultra-smooth visuals enthusiasts and professionals look for, even though their resolution and panel types are satisfactory for moderate use.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i and the MSI Pulse GL66 compare to other laptops
"The device is made for average work loads and if your work has a lot to do with online browsing, using apps that are not power-hungry and streaming videos. The looks are really good and the device in itself is not a heavy one. And with Intel 11th-gen Core processor, you might sail through most of your work without complaints."
"The MSI Pulse GL66 has a lot of potential for improvement. Although the RTX 3060 is only able to use 105 watts, we still liked the gaming performance, particularly since this also makes the Pulse comfortably efficient but not slow by any means. Neither the dark display with its lame response times, nor USB 2.0 or the lack of Thunderbolt will please real gamers. The use of a sticker factory seal, which is at least questionable, also won't inspire any enthusiasm. It is obvious that the laptop is really designed for price-conscious gamers."
