The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is usually significantly less expensive and geared towards budget-conscious consumers, offering a good balance for general use and light gaming. It has a white backlit keyboard, decent battery life, and is recognized for being suitable for intensive gaming despite its lower-tier graphics card. In contrast, the MSI GP66 Leopard is positioned at a midrange price point and is ideal for more performance-hungry tasks such as 3D rendering, advanced engineering applications, and machine learning, thanks to its high-end graphics card and stronger processing power. However, this comes with a tradeoff in battery life and weight, including a heavier power brick, which may affect its portability. Both offer similar screen sizes and resolutions, but the MSI model may provide a slightly better experience for fast motion due to its higher screen refresh rate. Give Feedback

The MSI GP66 Leopard and Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 are both good for engineering and design, though the MSI GP66 Leopard is somewhat better.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen processor and Nvidia RTX 2050 GPU, which along with its 8GB RAM and IPS screen with good color coverage, make it capable for running engineering and design software; however, the MSI GP66 Leopard stands out with a more powerful Intel i7 processor and top-tier Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU, plus double the RAM at 16GB, and a similarly high-quality display, offering superior performance for more resource-intensive engineering tasks and design work. Both laptops have considerations for portability and decent keyboard quality, but the MSI GP66 may present less portability due to a slightly heavier build and potentially louder operating noise given its higher specs.

The MSI GP66 Leopard has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 for general use, and gaming and AI.
For general use, both the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 and the MSI GP66 Leopard offer sufficient resolution and brightness, providing clear and vivid displays appropriate for everyday tasks such as browsing, office applications, and video streaming. The screens on both laptops also cover a wide color gamut, ensuring accurate color reproduction which is critical for engineering and design work where precision in color representation is necessary. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates on these models mean that they may not deliver the smooth visuals and quick responsiveness that are preferred for a more immersive and fluid gaming experience.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 and the MSI GP66 Leopard compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is one of the most powerful RTX 3050 Ti laptops. If you disregard the mediocre quality of the case in terms of the material and workmanship, Lenovo has created a successful budget gaming laptop with the IdeaPad Gaming. Thanks to high TDPs and constant performance development, the Core i5-12500H and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti are able to show their full power, while in contrast, the (mostly slower) competitors deliver a better battery life. However, hardly any of the alternative laptops are able to reach the image quality of the Gaming 3. Most of the competitors are left behind in terms of the color space and brightness."
"The MSI GP66 Leopard is a good budget high-performance gamer. The MSI also does a lot right outside of the pure performance despite it's low price. For example, the adaptive cooling system really surprised us positively, even in Extreme Performance Mode. And the display is not a budget panel either, but at least outshines the competition in terms of brightness. Of course, you also have to accept a few compromises in this price category. These include the Leopard's poor battery runtimes and the less than optimal build quality, which is also noticeable in the more complicated maintenance."
