For better performance during intensive engineering tasks, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro, despite being pricier, offers a more powerful processor and graphics card, higher resolution display, and larger screen size, which is advantageous for detailed work but makes it less portable. It also has a backlit keyboard and higher screen color accuracy which is beneficial for design work. If cost is a significant factor and portability is essential, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 offers fair performance for general use and is lighter, yet it has less capable hardware suitable for less demanding tasks, a lower resolution screen, though it does have a touchscreen. Both have similar storage capacity and long battery life but the IdeaPad 5 Pro leads in overall performance and display quality. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the IdeaPad 5 Pro's screen offers a balance of high resolution and brightness, making it ideal for everyday tasks and media consumption. Engineering and design professionals will appreciate the 5 Pro's wider color gamuts, ensuring color accuracy for detailed work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the IdeaPad 5 Pro lags due to a lower refresh rate that can't deliver the smooth visuals preferred in fast-paced visuals, while the IdeaPad Slim 3 provides fair performance for general and design tasks but its screen may not be as vibrant or sharp.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro turns out a successful all-rounder that, aside from 3D applications, always strikes a good or very good figure. This begins with the elegant metal case that isn't particularly light but fairly robust, giving a high-quality impression. The input devices are also better than those of many competitors. Both the keyboard and the touchpad are attractive and comfortable. In addition, the performance of the Ryzen 5 6600HS is easily able to keep up with the Intel competitors."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
