The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is less expensive and provides moderate performance with an AMD Ryzen processor, suitable for everyday use and simpler tasks. However, it's heavier and thicker, which could make it less ideal if portability matters to you. In contrast, the LG Gram 17 offers a lighter and slimmer design with a higher-resolution display, which is great for multimedia and productivity. It also includes a more powerful Intel processor, more memory, and larger storage, catering to more intensive tasks and multitasking. You'll pay more for the LG Gram 17, but it's a better fit if you need a high-performance, ultra-portable laptop with a superior screen. Give Feedback

The LG Gram 17 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is only fair.
The LG Gram 17's superior Intel i7 processor and Iris Xe graphics, combined with a high RAM capacity, provides better performance for engineering and design tasks than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17", which has a decent AMD Ryzen 5 processor and integrated Vega graphics but less RAM, making it less suitable for intensive tasks. Additionally, the LG Gram's higher resolution and better screen quality give a clearer and more vibrant display for detailed work, whereas the IdeaPad, while fair, has a lower screen quality which may not be as effective for high-precision design work.

The LG Gram 17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
General use prioritizes clear visuals and comfort, so both the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 and LG Gram 17 with their large screens, high resolution, and ample brightness offer appealing displays for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming. In engineering and design, accurate color representation is crucial; these laptops deliver adequate color range coverage that supports precision in creative workflows. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast-paced visuals are the norm, their lower refresh rates compared to specialized gaming laptops can make fast-moving images less smooth, which might detract from the immersive experience these applications seek to provide.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and the LG Gram 17 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
