If you prize screen real estate and superior visuals, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" with its larger display and IPS technology offers better viewing angles and color reproduction, which is suitable for content consumption and general work. However, its larger size and heavier weight detract from portability. Conversely, the Lenovo V15, while more modest in size with a smaller TN display that offers narrower viewing angles, compensates with double the storage and additional memory, which can contribute to improved multitasking and smoother performance for everyday tasks. Additionally, the V15's lighter weight makes it more convenient to carry around. If you're on a tighter budget and value portability and system memory over display quality, the V15 may suit you more. On the other hand, for a better visual experience and a bit more cost, you might prefer the IdeaPad 3 17". Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a better screen than the Lenovo V15 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" offers a larger and higher resolution display with better brightness, which enhances the visual experience for general use and detail-oriented tasks like engineering and design, though it might lack wide color gamuts crucial for precise color work. However, it falls short for gaming and 3D applications due to a lower refresh rate which can make fast-paced visuals less smooth. On the other hand, the Lenovo V15's screen, with compromised resolution, brightness, and color range, fails to meet the mark for general use, professional creative work, and gaming, leading to an overall diminished visual experience.

The Lenovo V15 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and Lenovo V15 are both fair for gaming and 3D applications due to their similar integrated AMD Ryzen Vega 7 GPUs which handle moderate graphics tasks but may struggle with more demanding games and 3D work; they also share a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate which is adequate for casual gaming but not optimal for fast-paced games that benefit from higher refresh rates. The IdeaPad 3 has a larger IPS display with better color accuracy and wider viewing angles, while the V15 uses a TN panel which generally has faster response times but poorer color reproduction and viewing angles.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and Lenovo V15 are both only fair for engineering and design.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" suits engineering and design use due to its better screen quality and larger display with higher color accuracy, which aids in detailed visual tasks, but its larger size and weight compromise portability compared to the Lenovo V15, which, while more portable due to being lighter and having a smaller screen, suffers from lower screen quality that is less ideal for such tasks. Both have similar central and graphics processing capabilities, but the Lenovo V15 offers more RAM, which could improve multitasking and complex project handling despite its inferior screen and build quality; therefore, the choice depends on whether screen size and quality or system memory and portability are prioritized for engineering and design tasks.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and the Lenovo V15 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
"The strengths of the Lenovo V15 G2 AMD lie in its expandability of the RAM and allowing you to use two SSDs, in its performance that goes beyond everyday applications thanks to AMD's hexa-core CPU and Vega-7 iGPU, in its good keyboard, and its relatively robust case. In addition, the battery life of the office laptop is also acceptable, and the device stays cool and relatively quiet."
