For everyday tasks, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15" is a cost-effective choice with a touchscreen and decent battery life, making it portable and suitable for general use. However, its performance is limited, and the screen isn't as sharp or color-accurate as higher-end models. In contrast, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (2024) is a powerhouse designed for gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning, thanks to its superior processor and dedicated graphics card. It has a high-resolution, color-accurate display with a fast refresh rate, ideal for engineering work and smooth gaming experiences. It's heavier and pricier but offers better performance and build quality. If you need a laptop for demanding applications and can afford it, the Legion Pro 5i is the better investment. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | February 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is an enduring office notebook with a powerful Ryzen APU. Lenovo's office all-rounder easily handles office and internet applications as well as modest games - the Ryzen 5 5625U APU and 16 GB of RAM make this possible. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The emission values are okay, but the noise emissions should be lower under medium to full load. The relatively light notebook (approx. 1.6 kg) achieves practical battery runtimes of about 10 to 11 hours."

PCMag

Brian Westover | August 2023
"The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value."
