If budget is a primary concern and you need a basic laptop for everyday tasks like web browsing and office applications, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" may be the more economical choice. However, if you are looking for a laptop with a larger screen, lighter weight, and higher performance for more demanding tasks like video editing or multitasking, the LG Gram 16 is likely a better option, although at a higher price point. The LG Gram also tends to have long battery life, making it suitable for on-the-go use, although it may lack the graphical power for intensive tasks like gaming or 3D rendering. The Lenovo, being less expensive, could have tradeoffs in terms of build quality, performance, and display. Consider your priorities—cost savings or more robust capabilities when making your choice. PCMag

Tom Brant | August 2021
"The IdeaPad 1 14 is a simple machine, but it’s well-designed and has nearly everything you’d expect from a no-nonsense laptop that allows you to check emails and get schoolwork or other light tasks done with relative ease. A "true" 128GB SSD (as opposed to an eMMC drive) and a roomy 14-inch full HD display are arguably the star attractions, with the comfortable keyboard and reasonably modern styling playing important backup roles."

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | January 2023
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
