The Lenovo Flex 5 14 is typically less expensive and offers a more portable design with a longer battery life, making it suitable for general use and on-the-go tasks. It features a touchscreen, making it versatile for various interactions. However, the Lenovo LOQ 15, while somewhat more expensive and heavier, provides significantly better performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering applications due to a more powerful GPU. It's also better equipped for gaming and intensive tasks, but it compromises on battery life and portability. If your primary need is performance for engineering or gaming, the LOQ 15 is the better choice; for general use with the benefit of portability and longer battery life, the Flex 5 14 would be preferable. The Lenovo LOQ 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo Flex 5 14 is only fair.
The Lenovo LOQ 15 offers a smoother gaming and 3D experience due to its more powerful Nvidia RTX 4050 graphics and higher screen refresh rate, making it suitable for faster and more graphically intense games. In contrast, the Lenovo Flex 5 14 includes a less powerful integrated AMD GPU and a lower refresh rate, which is adequate for casual gaming but may not provide as immersive an experience in demanding gaming or 3D scenarios.

The Lenovo LOQ 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo Flex 5 14 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Lenovo Flex 5 14 provides a balance of resolution and brightness suitable for everyday tasks and productivity software which is often sufficient for general use and casual engineering work, but it lacks the broader color gamut necessary for precision in professional design. In contrast, the Lenovo LOQ 15 boasts both higher resolution and improved color ranges that benefit detailed engineering and design applications, ensuring more accurate color reproduction. However, both models have lower refresh rates, which can hinder the smooth visuals required for optimal 3D gaming experiences where fast on-screen actions are the norm.

The Lenovo Flex 5 14 and Lenovo LOQ 15 are both good for general use.
The Lenovo Flex 5 14 is praised for general use as it combines a capable AMD Ryzen processor with enough RAM to handle everyday tasks, a high-quality IPS touchscreen for better viewing angles and interactivity, and boasts an impressively long battery life along with very good portability, making it suitable for on-the-go usage. On the other hand, the Lenovo LOQ 15 also ranks well for general use as it has a solid AMD Ryzen CPU and ample RAM, a good quality non-touchscreen IPS display, and a larger battery capacity, although it is heavier and has a shorter battery life compared to the Flex 5 14, which might make it less convenient for frequent travel.

How the Lenovo Flex 5 14 and the Lenovo LOQ 15 compare to other laptops
"The highlight of the latest IdeaPad Flex 5 14 is clearly its AMD CPU. The octa-core Ryzen 7 5700U is insanely fast even when compared to the best Tiger Lake Ultrabooks in the market or even Core H CPUs in many gaming laptops. It's a lot of raw processing power for what is supposed to be a budget 14-inch convertible. If your daily workloads can benefit from extra multi-thread CPU performance, then look no further than the inexpensive AMD-powered Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14. For regular on-the-road browsing or video streaming, however, a slimmer and lighter 10th gen Core Yoga, Spectre, or XPS would be a more balanced option."
"Even after a short time with the LOQ 15, you'll find it has a lot going for it, but ultimately it's just "good"—not quite a star. The performance is respectable for the hardware it’s running, but Lenovo had to make some design sacrifices to trim the price. One of the better aspects is the keyboard, making it one of the better low-cost gaming laptops to actually put your hands on."
