For a versatile device that offers a balance between performance and portability, the Lenovo Flex 5 16 is a solid choice. It's more affordable, has a touchscreen, and its 2-in-1 design allows for tablet functionality, making it great for general use and light engineering tasks. However, its gaming and 3D rendering capabilities are limited due to the integrated GPU.
On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (2024) is a powerhouse designed for high-performance tasks, including intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning, thanks to its superior Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU and Intel i9-14900HX processor. It's heavier and less portable, but it offers a higher refresh rate and better color accuracy, which is ideal for professional multimedia work and gaming. It also has better thermal management and more connectivity options, including Thunderbolt ports.
If you prioritize performance over portability and budget, and you're into gaming or professional multimedia work, the Legion Pro 7i is the way to go. But if you need a flexible device for everyday tasks with occasional lightweight engineering applications, and you want to save money, the Flex 5 16 is the better option. Give Feedback

How the Lenovo Flex 5 16 and the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (2024) compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 is a solidly equipped, 2-in-1 in the lower price segment. Performance is definitely sufficient for everyday tasks and in tests the battery proved itself to be very economical. That aside, there is a lot of standard fare on show and a search for real highlights ends in vain. The low color coverage and reflective display can be avoided by going for an optional 2.5K display but this also presumably results in poorer battery life. The cooling uses only one fan and leads to a raised temperature on one side of the device under load. Additionally, there is very loud fan noise, also under load or when gaming. On top of that, we also occasionally noticed electronic noises."
"Passionate gamers who want to play demanding modern titles with maximum details and don't mind spending the moolah will find the Lenovo Legion 7 Pro to be the right choice. The bright, sharp, and color-accurate 16:10 QHD 240 Hz display makes for an immersive viewing experience. The hardware is housed in a stylish chassis that feels premium and scores well in terms of workmanship and stability. Other aspects such as sound quality, input devices, and connectivity also seem to be near-perfect."
