For a balance of performance and portability with a focus on gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the Lenovo Legion 5 16 (2024) is a strong contender. It offers a higher resolution display, better color accuracy, and superior performance with its latest generation Intel i9 processor and Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card, making it suitable for engineering tasks and gaming. However, it's slightly pricier, heavier, and has a bulkier design, which might impact its portability.
On the other hand, if you prioritize a more compact and lightweight design without sacrificing too much performance, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" is a good choice. It's equipped with a capable AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor and Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics, which will handle general use and gaming well, though it may not be as powerful for the most demanding tasks compared to the Legion 5. It also has a longer battery life, which is beneficial for on-the-go use.
Consider the Legion 5 16 for its superior performance and display quality if you can accommodate its size and weight, especially for engineering or high-end gaming. Opt for the Legion Slim 7 if you value portability and battery life for everyday tasks and casual gaming. Give Feedback

How the Lenovo Legion 5 16 (2024) and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
