The HP Victus 15 offers a lower midrange price, making it a more budget-friendly option with a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card, which is great for gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning. Its 144Hz refresh rate screen is excellent for fast-moving visuals, and it has a number pad on the keyboard, which is handy for numerical data entry. However, it's heavier and thicker, which affects its portability, and the battery life is shorter compared to the Surface Laptop. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 15" is priced in the midrange but often costs more, reflecting its premium build quality, high-resolution touchscreen with a 3:2 aspect ratio that's excellent for productivity, and longer battery life, making it a superior choice for general business use. It also comes with Windows 11 Pro and more RAM, which is beneficial for multitasking. Its slim and light design enhances portability, and it has a better color accuracy for tasks that require precise color reproduction. However, it lacks a dedicated GPU, which means it's not as powerful for gaming or heavy graphical workloads, and it has fewer ports, which could limit connectivity options without a dongle or dock. In summary, if you prioritize performance in gaming and graphical tasks and are on a tighter budget, the HP Victus 15 is the way to go. But if you value portability, battery life, and a high-quality display for general productivity tasks, and you're willing to pay a premium for these features, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 15" would be the better choice. Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
