When deciding between the HP Victus 15 and the Razer Blade 18, consider that the Razer Blade 18 will generally offer higher performance suited for demanding tasks like gaming or 3D rendering, but at a higher cost. The HP Victus 15, being more affordable, is a good fit for general use or less intensive engineering tasks. Keep in mind that the Razer Blade 18 may also have better build quality and a more premium feel, but this comes with added weight, affecting portability. The battery life of gaming laptops like the Razer Blade is typically shorter than more budget-friendly options like the HP Victus, which may be an important factor if you need to work on the go. The Razer Blade 18 is very good for general use, while the HP Victus 15 is good.
The Razer Blade 18, with a superior processor, ample RAM, and a high-quality screen, offers top tier performance and visuals for general use, but it is larger and heavier, which affects portability and leads to lower battery life ratings. Conversely, the HP Victus 15 delivers sufficient performance for everyday tasks, more portable due to its lighter weight and smaller size, and has a battery that is rated to last longer, yet it compromises on the screen quality, processor power, and RAM compared to the Razer Blade 18.

The Razer Blade 18 is very good for gaming and AI, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The Razer Blade 18 outperforms the HP Victus 15 in gaming and 3D because it has a more powerful GPU, the Nvidia RTX 4070, and a higher screen refresh rate of 240Hz, compared to the HP's Nvidia RTX 3050 and 144Hz refresh rate. This means smoother visuals and better handling of demanding tasks on the Razer, although it typically comes at a higher cost and potentially lower portability due to its size and weight.

The Razer Blade 18 is excellent for engineering and design, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The Razer Blade 18 is excellent for engineering and design due to its powerful Intel i9 processor, substantial 32GB RAM, and superior Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU, which enhances rendering and computational performance, coupled with its high-resolution display that offers better screen quality for intricate work. Meanwhile, the HP Victus 15, while good for such tasks, has a more moderate Intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, which deliver solid but less formidable performance, and its display, though decent, does not match the Razer's in terms of quality or workspace area.

The Razer Blade 18 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP Victus 15's screen offers adequate resolution and brightness for tasks like browsing and watching videos, making it suitable for general use. However, for engineering and design where precise color representation is crucial, the HP's fair color coverage may not meet the demands for professionals in need of accurate hues. The Razer Blade 18 provides sharp images and vibrant colors due to better coverage of professional color gamuts, but its lower refresh rate might not be ideal for 3D applications or gaming that benefit from smoother motion and faster screen updates.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"Razer made a powerful laptop in the Blade 18, showing off a beautiful and fast display and the same high-quality build we’ve come to expect from this product line. It’s also quite expensive, which is hardly a surprise, but bears repeating even in this price range. It’s pricier than the Scar 18 despite an inferior GPU and half the storage, so you really have to want the Blade 18’s design to justify the cost."
