If you prioritize a more budget-friendly option, the HP Victus 15 is considerably less expensive and offers solid performance for general use and light gaming, thanks to its decent processor and graphics card. However, the MSI Vector GP76, while pricier, provides a more powerful processor, advanced graphics capabilities, a larger display, and a significantly smoother gaming experience, which can be crucial for demanding games or intensive tasks such as 3D modeling, machine learning, or engineering simulations. The tradeoff is clear: the HP is more wallet-friendly and suitable for everyday tasks, whereas the MSI boasts higher performance and is better suited for heavy-duty applications, at the cost of being less portable due to its size and weight. The MSI Vector GP76 is very good for general use, while the HP Victus 15 is good.
The HP Victus 15, with its lighter weight and longer battery life, is good for general use and is more portable, but has lower performance due to its less powerful CPU and RAM compared to the MSI Vector GP76. The MSI Vector GP76, while heavier and with a shorter battery life, offers very good general performance because of its higher-end CPU and more RAM, better suited for more demanding tasks.

The MSI Vector GP76 is very good for gaming and AI, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The MSI Vector GP76 offers superior gaming and 3D performance compared to the HP Victus 15, primarily because it has a more powerful GPU in the Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti compared to the RTX 3050 in the HP, and it supports a higher screen refresh rate, offering smoother visuals at 360 Hz versus the HP's 144 Hz. These features are very important for gaming and contribute to the MSI's capability to handle more demanding games and 3D tasks with better visual quality and fluidity.

The MSI Vector GP76 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP Victus 15 offers clear and bright images suitable for everyday tasks, but its color accuracy falls short for precision work in engineering and design, and its lower refresh rate detracts from the smooth visuals often required in high-paced gaming and 3D applications. The MSI Vector GP76 provides an all-rounder display with a good balance of brightness, resolution, and color fidelity, making it apt for both general use and demanding engineering and design tasks. However, like the HP, its refresh rate isn't optimal for 3D gaming where a higher refresh rate is crucial for fluid motion and fast-paced action.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"The MSI Vector GP76 12UGS is a gaming laptop on speed. The advantages are clear: The Vector GP76 is a real gamer with its 360 Hz display and super-fast response times. In addition, the Core i7-12700H has double the power of the CPU in its predecessor and another highlight is the Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti with a real power consumption of 150 watts. This places the device in the top range of our database. The Vector can also operate rather quietly, offers a full sound range, improved battery runtimes, a key-configurable RGB keyboard, a very stable chassis and good upgrade options. Moreover, the display produces a nice, rich and clear picture."
