If you're looking for affordability, the HP Victus 15 could be a good fit for everyday tasks and light gaming, offering decent performance without breaking the bank. On the other hand, the MSI Raider GE78 is typically pricier but is designed for high-end gaming and demanding software applications, featuring more powerful hardware for intensive tasks. Keep in mind that the higher cost also brings about improved graphics, faster processing power, and likely better build quality, which could be beneficial for avid gamers or professionals in fields like video editing or 3D modeling. However, the MSI's enhanced capabilities might also translate to less battery life and less portability when compared to the HP Victus 15. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE78 is very good for general use, while the HP Victus 15 is good.
The HP Victus 15 offers decent general performance with its mid-range CPU and sufficient RAM for everyday tasks, and its relatively light weight and smaller screen make it more portable, though with a battery life that might require more frequent charging during the day. By contrast, the MSI Raider GE78 boasts a top-tier CPU and ample RAM for more demanding applications, a larger and higher-quality screen which, along with its greater weight and lower portability score, suggest it's less convenient to carry around, but it compensates with better battery life.

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the HP Victus 15 and MSI Raider GE78 offer pleasing visuals with their resolution and brightness making them suitable for everyday tasks. The MSI Raider though stands out in engineering and design work due to its wider color gamut, which ensures greater color accuracy important for detailed work. However, both fall short for gaming and 3D because their lower refresh rates can't deliver the smooth visuals demanded by high-speed graphics rendering.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
