The HP Victus 15, being less expensive, is a solid choice if you're looking for a laptop that can handle general use and light gaming without breaking the bank. It will likely have competent performance for everyday tasks and moderate workloads. On the other hand, the MSI Raider GE67Hx, while more expensive, is designed for intensive uses like high-end gaming, 3D modeling, machine learning, and engineering tasks. It will have superior performance, but with a potential tradeoff in terms of less battery life and portability due to more powerful hardware. Consider your primary use case: if you need the laptop for demanding applications and the budget isn't a constraint, the MSI might be justifiable, but for more casual use, the HP Victus 15 should suffice. The MSI Raider GE67Hx has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering the HP Victus 15 and the MSI Raider GE67Hx for various uses, the screen quality plays a crucial role. The HP Victus may offer a satisfactory display with decent resolution and brightness suitable for general use, but it may fall short for engineering and design due to limited color accuracy, and particularly in gaming or 3D applications where its lower refresh rate can be a disadvantage. On the other hand, the MSI Raider provides superior color reproduction and higher brightness, making it ideal for detail-oriented work in engineering and design, but its lower refresh rate compared to specialized gaming laptops could make it less optimal for fast-paced 3D experiences.

How the HP Victus 15 and the MSI Raider GE67Hx compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"If you've wanted to dip your toes into PC gaming but can't let go of your console roots, the MSI Raider GE67 HX stakes out an attractive middle ground between the speed and versatility of PC gaming and the comfort and ease of a console. If you can overlook its noisy fans and chintzy touchpad, the Raider provides a powerhouse entertainment experience with an OLED screen that tops most household TVs. It's not cheap, but this gaming machine is more than the sum of its parts."
