If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option that can handle general use and some gaming, the HP Victus 15 is a solid choice, though it may not offer the same high performance for demanding tasks as the more expensive MSI Raider GE66. The Raider GE66 typically delivers superior performance, especially for 3D rendering, machine learning, and high-end gaming, but it comes with a higher price and might be less portable due to its build. Consider if portability and cost savings are more crucial for you or if you're prepared to invest in the higher capabilities and features of the Raider GE66 despite the added expense and potentially lower battery life. The MSI Raider GE66 is very good for gaming and AI, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The MSI Raider GE66 is highly suited for gaming and 3D because it has a more powerful GPU (Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti compared to the HP Victus 15's Nvidia RTX 3050) and a higher screen refresh rate (240Hz versus 144Hz), which means it can display more frames per second for smoother visuals. Furthermore, the Raider GE66 also boasts a superior CPU (Intel i7-12700H) and screen quality (higher resolution and color accuracy), enhancing overall performance and visual fidelity in gaming and 3D applications.

The MSI Raider GE66 is very good for engineering and design, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The MSI Raider GE66 surpasses the HP Victus 15 in engineering and design use primarily due to a more powerful CPU and GPU, considerably more RAM that aids in complex tasks, and a higher quality screen that provides better color accuracy and resolution. Although the HP Victus is lighter and more portable, the MSI offers a premium combination of hardware suited for intense workloads and has higher overall speaker and keyboard quality, despite potentially more operating noise and being less portable.

The MSI Raider GE66 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the HP Victus 15 provides sufficient resolution and brightness for everyday tasks, but the MSI Raider GE66 offers superior display clarity and illumination, improving the overall visual experience. How the HP Victus 15 and the MSI Raider GE66 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"The MSI Raider GE66 12UHS notebook passes with flying colors. The GE66 is a high-end notebook with strong performance. The keyboard and trackpad are still very good and score well with precise inputs as well as high build quality. Thanks to a new liquid metal cooling solution, the Intel Core i9 12900HK brings a performance increase of around 50 percent over the predecessor's Intel Core i9 10980HK. The installed graphics card in our device delivers up to 30 percent higher frame rates than the RTX 2070 Super in the MSI GE66 10SFS."
