The HP Victus 15 is often less expensive and comes with a gaming-capable Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card, which is suitable for performance-demanding tasks and some gaming. However, it is heavier and thicker than the MSI Prestige 15, which makes it less ideal for carrying around frequently. Conversely, the MSI Prestige 15, while slightly more expensive, offers a better battery life, more RAM for multitasking, and is lighter and more portable, making it a good fit for productivity and daily use. The MSI's Nvidia GTX 1650 Max-Q graphics card is still capable but less powerful than the Victus' RTX 3050. If you prefer portability and longer battery life for work on-the-go and can spend a bit more, the Prestige 15 is favourable, whereas if you're looking to save money and need better gaming performance, the HP Victus 15 would be the right choice. How the HP Victus 15 and the MSI Prestige 15 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"The MSI Prestige 15 offers a dazzling 4K image quality, and solid performance. The MSI Prestige 15 appears to consistently implement the guiding principle of throttling the solid and efficient hardware to such an extent that content creation succeeds perfectly. Performance-hungry tasks, on the other hand, are slowed down a little by the reduced power consumption. Conversely, this means that the case remains relatively cool and the dual fan subdued. The battery life also benefits somewhat. So the losses aren't really dramatic because full performance is still available for short bursts."
