The HP Victus 15 is more wallet-friendly and offers good performance for general use, but if you're looking for superior computing and graphical performance, particularly for intensive engineering tasks, 3D work, machine learning, or gaming, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 would serve you better despite its higher cost. Additionally, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 boasts a higher resolution screen with a flexible hinge that enables tablet-like use, making it more versatile for creative professionals. In terms of portability, the Surface is lighter and thinner; however, the HP Victus 15 has a larger screen, which might be preferable for productivity and entertainment. When considering battery life, both should offer reasonable durations, but actual performance will depend on usage patterns. Choose the HP Victus 15 if budget and screen size are your primary concerns, but opt for the Surface Laptop Studio 2 if you require more power, better screen quality, and a 2-in-1 form factor. Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."

NotebookCheck

Andreas Osthoff | March 2022
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
