When choosing between the HP Victus 15 and the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13, consider that the HP Victus often has a stronger focus on gaming and intensive tasks due to its powerful graphics, while the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 emphasizes durability, a top-notch keyboard, and business features. If you prioritize gaming or heavy multimedia work and don't mind a larger form, the HP could serve you well. On the other hand, if you value a more compact design, excellent build quality, and long battery life for general business or everyday use, and are willing to invest a bit more, the Lenovo might be the better fit. The HP Victus 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 has a better screen for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Victus 15 and ThinkPad Z13 both offer screens with suitable resolution and brightness, making them pleasant for everyday tasks like browsing and document editing. However, for engineering and design, where accurate color representation is crucial, the ThinkPad Z13's screen covers a wider range of color gamuts, providing better color precision for professional work. In contrast, for gaming and 3D applications, high refresh rates are essential for smooth visuals, and since both laptops lack high refresh rate displays, they fall short in meeting the ideal standards for these activities.

How the HP Victus 15 and the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"In the premium ultraportable space, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 competes with the best of the best, and still manages to shine. The design is an impressive departure from the bland bare-metal laptop that's become so popular in recent years, and the AMD-powered system has performance that's just as impressive. It's a stark alternative to the Intel-based majority, and it stands up well enough to the impressive Apple M2 processor."
