When considering the HP Victus 15 versus the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14", think about your primary needs. If gaming or graphics work is your focus, the HP Victus 15, with its more powerful processor and dedicated graphics card, would serve you better despite being heavier and having a shorter battery life. It's also slightly bulkier, so if you value portability and longer battery life for everyday tasks like browsing or office work, you may prefer the lighter Lenovo IdeaPad 3. The tradeoff with the Lenovo is less storage capacity and it relies on integrated graphics, which are less suited for demanding tasks. The Lenovo could cost less, making it a more budget-friendly option, while the HP's higher cost aligns with its enhanced capabilities. Give Feedback

The HP Victus 15 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" are both only fair for engineering and design, though the HP Victus 15 is somewhat better.
The HP Victus 15 is preferred for engineering and design due to its stronger Intel i5 processor and dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics, which are more capable of handling demanding software than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" with its AMD Ryzen 5 integrated graphics. Additionally, the Victus offers a screen with higher refresh rate and GPU features like hardware ray tracing and DLSS, which are beneficial for visually intensive tasks, whereas the IdeaPad compensates with its superior portability and quieter operation.

The HP Victus 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The HP Victus 15 has a display that offers pleasing resolution and brightness, making it great for everyday tasks and watching videos, but its limited color range and slower refresh rate may not suit professionals in engineering, design, and gaming. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3, with similar fair screen quality, is adequate for documents and web browsing, yet it also falls short for color-intensive tasks and fast-paced gaming due to moderate color accuracy and a standard refresh rate. Both laptops would serve well for casual use but may disappoint users who need high color fidelity for creative work or the smooth visuals desired in gaming and 3D applications.

How the HP Victus 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14" compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"The low-priced IdeaPad 3 14 delivers on core functionality. Lenovo's IdeaPad 3 14 meets all the basic requirements for an inexpensive office laptop. The matte IPS display is bright enough, the performance is high for the class, and the input devices are rock solid. In addition, the mostly quiet operation including the useful performance modes, cool surface temperatures, easy maintainability as well as expandable working and mass storage all contribute to the IdeaPad 3 14's value proposition."
