The HP Stream 14" is an excellent budget-friendly option for general use, such as web browsing, word processing, and video streaming. It's lightweight and has a long battery life, making it highly portable for everyday tasks. However, its performance is best suited for basic applications, and the screen quality is modest, which is expected at this price point. It lacks advanced features like a touchscreen, high refresh rate, or premium color coverage, which might not be ideal for more demanding tasks or entertainment. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 is a more premium choice that offers a significant upgrade in almost every aspect. The OLED display with a high resolution and touchscreen capability provides vibrant colors and deep blacks, enhancing the visual experience for media consumption and creative work. Its performance is more robust, suitable for more intensive tasks like light gaming, machine learning, or engineering software, thanks to its more powerful processor and GPU. The inclusion of Thunderbolt ports and a fingerprint reader adds to its versatility and security. It's also a 2-in-1 convertible, offering the flexibility of a tablet. However, these features come at a higher price, and it's heavier than the HP Stream, though still portable. In summary, if you prioritize portability, battery life, and budget over performance and screen quality, the HP Stream 14" is the way to go. If you're looking for a more versatile device with a superior display, better performance, and additional features, and you're willing to pay more and carry a slightly heavier device, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 would be the better choice. PCMag

Zachary Cuevas | November 2021
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
