The HP Omen 17 is less expensive and still offers strong performance, making it a cost-effective option for general use and gaming. It has a good battery life but is slightly less portable due to its weight. Meanwhile, the MSI Raider GE76 costs more but delivers superior performance, especially for engineering and 3D/machine learning tasks, due to its better GPU and double the RAM. It also has a higher screen refresh rate beneficial for fast-paced gaming. The Raider has a better build quality and heat management but is even heavier than the Omen, making it less convenient for frequent travel. Both have large screens, but neither is exceptionally portable due to their size and weight. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE76 has a better screen than the HP Omen 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the HP Omen 17 and MSI Raider GE76 offer crisp images and bright displays due to their high resolution and quality panels, ensuring comfortable viewing for everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, and productivity software. The added color accuracy and broader color gamuts of these laptops cater well to engineering and design professionals who require precise color representation for their work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, their lower refresh rates may lead to less fluid motion and slower response times, which are drawbacks for fast-paced, visually demanding environments.

How the HP Omen 17 and the MSI Raider GE76 compare to other laptops
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
"The MSI Raider GE76: with Alder Lake and RTX 3080 Ti to gaming heaven. Yes, MSI could improve some aspects (like the quality of the webcam), but the manufacturer offers a very convincing and balanced overall package. The biggest advantage is definitely the immense performance potential. The combination of Core i9-12900HK, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB DDR5 RAM and two NVMe SSDs offers a lot of performance for the next couple of years and plenty of power for 3D applications. Most titles would run smoothly on an external 4K screen no matter the quality preset. We came away impressed with the integrated 360 Hz panel's fast response times and good color accuracy."
