The HP Omen 17 offers a larger screen, higher resolution, and more powerful graphics capabilities, making it better suited for intensive gaming and engineering software. It also has a backlit keyboard and better heat management. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, reducing portability compared to the MSI GP66 Leopard. The MSI is lighter and has a longer battery life, better for general use and portability. If your priority is high-performance gaming or engineering tasks and you don't mind less portability, go for the HP Omen 17. If you favor portability and longer unplugged use, consider the MSI GP66 Leopard. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 17 has a better screen than the MSI GP66 Leopard for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The HP Omen 17 and MSI GP66 Leopard both feature high-quality panels with resolutions and brightness levels that are considered sufficient for general computing tasks, ensuring clear, vivid images for everyday activities. However, for engineering and design where color accuracy across various spectrums is crucial, the screens of these laptops may not cover the wider color gamuts required by professionals for the most precise work. For Gaming and 3D applications, the importance of a high refresh rate cannot be overstated, and these laptops fall short in providing the smooth visuals critical for these fast-paced environments, despite having adequate resolution and panel types.

How the HP Omen 17 and the MSI GP66 Leopard compare to other laptops
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
"The MSI GP66 Leopard is a good budget high-performance gamer. The MSI also does a lot right outside of the pure performance despite it's low price. For example, the adaptive cooling system really surprised us positively, even in Extreme Performance Mode. And the display is not a budget panel either, but at least outshines the competition in terms of brightness. Of course, you also have to accept a few compromises in this price category. These include the Leopard's poor battery runtimes and the less than optimal build quality, which is also noticeable in the more complicated maintenance."
