The HP Omen 16 comes at a higher cost but offers better performance with an Intel i7 processor and a larger 16.1-inch screen that favors detail-oriented tasks and immersive gaming, at the expense of less portability due to its heavier weight. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a slightly smaller 15.6-inch display, an AMD Ryzen processor, and is often less expensive with a slightly lighter build, making it a more portable option with a high-resolution screen. Both offer similar graphics capabilities, but your choice should consider the balance between performance, screen size, portability, resolution, and budget. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 16 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion 5 15" for software development, and content creation, while the Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
If you prioritize a sharp and vibrant display for everyday tasks like web browsing or document editing, you will appreciate the HP Omen 16's combination of resolution and brightness; however, its refresh rate might be limiting for fluid gameplay in 3D titles. The Lenovo Legion 5 offers a similar advantage for general usage scenarios with its good resolution and brightness, making it suitable for various tasks. But for both engineering and 3D applications, where precise color representation and smooth motion are key, neither laptop is ideal—as they lack the wider color gamuts favored by professionals and the high refresh rates demanded by gamers.

How the HP Omen 16 and the Lenovo Legion 5 15" compare to other laptops
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
