The HP Envy 17 is often less expensive and offers a larger screen size, which might be preferable for media consumption and general use. It's heavier, though, which could affect portability if you plan to carry it frequently. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 is more expensive but comes with a sharper and more color-accurate display, better for professional creative work, and a more powerful processor suited for intensive tasks like 3D rendering or engineering software. The ThinkPad also has a better build quality and more modern ports, but it has a smaller screen which may not be ideal for multitasking or media. Both have touchscreens, but different aspect ratios, with the ThinkPad opting for a taller display which benefits productivity tasks. Choose the HP for a budget-friendly, larger-screen option for general use, and the ThinkPad if you need higher performance, better portability despite its higher cost, and a more premium build for professional work. NotebookCheck

Marcus Schwarten | April 2023
"In our test, the HP Envy 17-cr0079ng presents itself as a balanced multimedia laptop. Thanks to its solid CPU performance and dedicated entry-level GeForce, it can also be used for playing video games, as long as the demands aren't too high. Those looking for more can find it in the Dell XPS 17 for example."

PCWorld

Matthew S. Smith | September 2022
"Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z16 tries has some success in its effort to tweak the ThinkPad formula. The laptop is attractive, yet still tame, and material quality is on par with the best Windows competition. I also like the smooth, responsive haptic touchpad and the wide range of modern connectivity. Yet the Z16 doesn’t fix ThinkPad’s typical weakness: value. Starting around $1,550, and more typically near $1,700, the Z16 finds itself facing alternatives that have better performance or an improved display for the same price, or less."
