When choosing between the HP EliteBook 845 G9 and the HP Envy x360 15", consider how you plan to use the laptop. The EliteBook offers a more powerful processor, more RAM, and more storage, making it better suited for professional tasks and multitasking. It's a premium business laptop that comes with Windows 11 Pro, providing features catered to enterprise environments. On the other hand, the Envy x360, with its touch-enabled display and flexible 2-in-1 design, is more versatile for everyday use and multimedia. Although it has slightly less processing power and storage capacity, it may suffice for routine tasks and entertainment. The EliteBook is more expensive than the Envy, so if budget is a concern, the Envy x360 may be the more attractive option. In terms of portability, both are reasonably lightweight and durable, but the Envy's larger screen size could make it less compact. Both offer a full day's battery life, with the Envy slightly outperforming the EliteBook. Consider these trade-offs when making your decision based on your specific needs and preferences. The HP EliteBook 845 G9 is good for engineering and design, while the HP Envy x360 15" is only fair.
The HP EliteBook 845 G9 stands out as better for engineering and design due to its higher RAM and more powerful CPU and GPU, which are crucial for demanding tasks and software that those fields require. In contrast, the HP Envy x360 15" has lower RAM and less powerful integrated graphics, making it sufficient for basic engineering tasks but may struggle with more intensive workloads; however, its convertible design offers greater versatility for on-the-go use and presentations.

The HP EliteBook 845 G9 has a better screen than the HP Envy x360 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The HP EliteBook 845 G9 offers a vibrant display with high resolution and brightness, making it suitable for general use and detailed engineering tasks, but its lower refresh rate makes it less ideal for gaming and 3D applications. On the other hand, the HP Envy x360 15" provides an acceptable viewing experience for everyday tasks and some level of design work but falls short due to less coverage of professional color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB. For gaming and 3D work, both laptops aren't optimal since they don't prioritize high refresh rates, which are crucial for smooth motion.

How the HP EliteBook 845 G9 and the HP Envy x360 15" compare to other laptops
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."
"Despite its good looks, stellar webcam and comfortable keyboard, the Envy x360 15 is hard to recommend because of its dim, 16:9 display. If the display isn't an issue for you, just be sure to wait for a good sale price. Otherwise, a more modern two-in-one with a 16:10 display such as the Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 or Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 provides a larger workspace without adding much to the size and weight of the system."
