When choosing between the HP Dragonfly Pro and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, consider that the HP offers a slightly better battery life and is equipped with a more potent AMD processor, which may give it an advantage in demanding tasks. However, the Lenovo stands out with a higher resolution display, which means sharper images and text, although you may trade off some battery life. Its Intel processor is efficient, but not as powerful as the AMD in the HP for heavier workloads. The Lenovo is also lighter and slightly slimmer, making it more portable than the HP. If you favor portability and a higher resolution screen at a lower cost, the Lenovo could be your pick, but if you need stronger performance and can handle a bit more weight and expense, the HP might serve you better. The HP Dragonfly Pro 14" has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro for software development, and content creation, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The HP Dragonfly Pro offers adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks but lacks the wide color gamuts necessary for precision in engineering and design, and its lower refresh rate diminishes the experience for fast-paced 3D applications. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro provides crisp visuals with its high resolution and brightness, making it suitable for both general use and detail-oriented work in engineering and design due to better color reproduction, however, like the HP, it falls short for gaming or 3D work because of its less optimal refresh rate. For gaming or work with 3D graphics where fluid motion is key, a laptop with a higher refresh rate would provide a smoother experience, albeit both of these models may fall short in that aspect.

The HP Dragonfly Pro 14" and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The HP Dragonfly Pro 14" is fair for gaming and 3D due to its Radeon 680M GPU which is competent for light gaming, but with a refresh rate of 60Hz, it's less ideal for fast-paced games. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro also offers fair gaming performance with its Iris Xe graphics, benefiting from a higher 90Hz screen refresh rate which provides smoother visuals, though its GPU may not be as robust as dedicated gaming models.

How the HP Dragonfly Pro 14" and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro compare to other laptops
"I’d say that the HP Dragonfly Pro checks off most of the boxes for this freelancer. It feels nice to use, is zippy and responsive, has great speakers, and even has a relatively sane price. Although it’s an unorthodox choice to pick AMD for this kind of machine, it’s clear that when Ryzen is given a chance to shine, it can kick a lot of butt."
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
