The HP EliteBook 845 G9 has a better screen than the HP 14" Laptop for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP 14" Laptop's screen provides adequate resolution and brightness for general tasks and office applications, but it may not offer the wide color gamut that professionals need for engineering and design, leading to fair quality in these aspects. The HP EliteBook 845 G9 steps up with enhanced resolution and brightness that benefits general and professional use, plus it likely has a wider color gamut that's crucial for accurately displaying detailed designs and renders. However, both laptops have lower refresh rates which are not ideal for the smooth visuals required in high-paced gaming and complex 3D environments, thus resulting in poor screen quality for these uses.

How the HP 14" Laptop and the HP EliteBook 845 G9 compare to other laptops
"This feels like an ideal laptop for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a laptop and isn’t too bothered by things like build quality or construction. It’s a laptop that will be used to pay bills, keep track of expenses, do some online shopping, and will be tucked away in a spare bedroom/home office. It’s an appliance designed to do a job without fuss. It’s not a premium experience—the materials do feel a little cheap, the display won’t exactly wow you, and the battery life is nothing to write home about, especially if you’ve used more expensive devices. But overall it’s not too shabby, especially for the price."
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."
