The Gigabyte G5, at a higher price, offers better performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering due to its powerful Intel processor and Nvidia RTX graphics, making it suitable for intensive gaming and demanding applications. It is less portable and has a shorter battery life compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is more affordable, more portable with a longer battery life, and has a touchscreen. It's adequate for general use and lighter tasks but may struggle with more intensive applications due to its modest AMD processor and integrated graphics. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte G5 is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is only fair.
The Gigabyte G5 outperforms the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 in engineering and design tasks due to its more powerful Intel i5 CPU, dedicated RTX GPU, and greater screen refresh rate, which are critical for intensive applications and visual accuracy. While both have similar-sized IPS panels for good screen quality, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, although lighter and with a longer battery life, falls short with its less capable Ryzen 3 CPU and integrated graphics, making it less suited for demanding engineering software and detailed design work.

The Gigabyte G5 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has a better screen for content creation.
For general use, both the Gigabyte G5 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 offer screens with adequate resolution and brightness, but they might not have the premium panel technology that enhances visual comfort and color reproduction. In the context of engineering and design, their screens provide respectable resolution and brightness, but may lack wide color gamuts, resulting in less accurate color representation which is crucial for detailed design work. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates on these laptops can lead to less fluid motion and responsiveness, which might diminish the overall experience in fast-paced scenarios.

How the Gigabyte G5 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte G5 KE is a midrange gaming laptop that checks most boxes. Gigabyte makes good use of the Core i5-12500H and RTX 3060 Laptop GPU combo, and we find no untoward issues with overall performance. The dual-fan quad-heatpipe cooling arrangement does well to ensure that the underlying hardware doesn't throttle under load. That being said, the display is below par when compared to 2023 standards, especially when competing devices."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
