When deciding between the Gigabyte G5 and the HP Stream 14", consider what you need the laptop for. The Gigabyte G5 offers better performance for intensive tasks like gaming, 3D modeling, or engineering software due to a more powerful processor and graphics card. However, it is heavier and has shorter battery life, which makes it less portable. The HP Stream 14" is much more affordable and easier to carry around, with longer battery life, but it's less capable of handling demanding software due to modest hardware, suited more for general use like web browsing, streaming, and document editing. The Gigabyte G5 is good for engineering and design, while the HP Stream 14" is poor.
The Gigabyte G5 is better suited for engineering and design due to its powerful Intel i5 processor, higher-tier Nvidia RTX GPU, and IPS display with good screen resolution and color coverage, whereas the HP Stream 14" falls short with a less capable Intel Celeron processor, basic Intel UHD Graphics, and a lower-quality TN panel with less color accuracy and resolution. While the HP offers greater portability and has a quieter operating noise, these advantages do not compensate for its significant deficiencies in CPU, RAM, GPU, and screen quality for engineering and design tasks.

How the Gigabyte G5 and the HP Stream 14" compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte G5 KE is a midrange gaming laptop that checks most boxes. Gigabyte makes good use of the Core i5-12500H and RTX 3060 Laptop GPU combo, and we find no untoward issues with overall performance. The dual-fan quad-heatpipe cooling arrangement does well to ensure that the underlying hardware doesn't throttle under load. That being said, the display is below par when compared to 2023 standards, especially when competing devices."
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
