If you prioritize gaming or intensive engineering tasks and don't mind a heavier and less portable laptop with shorter battery life, the Gigabyte Aorus 17H is well-suited due to its powerful graphics card and processor. However, if you prefer something more budget-friendly that offers better portability, longer battery life, and a touchscreen, while still being capable of handling general use and light engineering, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" is a good choice, although it has lower performance for demanding applications and gaming. The Gigabyte Aorus 17H is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" is only fair.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H surpasses the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" with a high-end CPU and GPU, more RAM and storage, and a superior screen which offers better color coverage and contrast, essential for engineering and design tasks. However, its larger size and heavier build reduce portability compared to the lighter, more compact Lenovo, which also has a longer battery life but with a less powerful CPU and GPU, less memory, and a screen that doesn't match the color quality of the Aorus 17H.

The Gigabyte Aorus 17H has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H impresses with a high-resolution and bright display suitable for daily activities, but its lower refresh rate makes fast-paced visuals in gaming less smooth. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" offers a decent balance of resolution and brightness that suffices for everyday tasks and casual design work, though it doesn't excel in any particular area. Both lack the color accuracy and range desired by professionals in engineering and design, as well as the high refresh rates required for optimal gaming and 3D experiences.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 17H and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" compare to other laptops
"Overall though, it’s *lots of swearing* fast, seriously. For work, rendering, gaming, it doesn’t matter, this is a true weapon of performance that’s going to run rings around most high-end desktop systems. If you absolutely have to game at ultra-high refresh rates on the go (but within thinking distance of a plug socket), this is the ticket. I can’t see such an extreme being that appealing to everyone, but if you take your gaming seriously, or even professionally, there’s nothing else out there that comes close that you can still fit in your backpack and travel with."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 is convincing due to its long battery life. The device scores points especially with its large battery and long battery runtimes combined with its low consumption. The CPU and GPU perform in the test as one would expect, and in line with what was familiar from the somewhat smaller 14-inch sister model, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14."
