The Gigabyte Aorus 17H has superior performance with a much more powerful graphics card, making it ideal for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning tasks; however, it's more expensive, heavier, and has a shorter battery life. In contrast, the HP Envy 17 is more affordable, lighter, and offers longer battery life with a touchscreen, but has integrated graphics, which are less suitable for demanding applications and gaming. Consider the Aorus 17H if performance is a priority and you're okay with lower portability and battery life, or the Envy 17 for general use, portability, and value. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aorus 17H is very good for gaming and AI, while the HP Envy 17 is only fair.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H delivers superior gaming and 3D performance due to its high-end Nvidia RTX 4080 graphics card and a screen with a high refresh rate of 360, which is optimal for smooth, fast-paced visuals. In contrast, the HP Envy 17 offers a more modest gaming experience with its integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics and a standard refresh rate of 60, which is adequate for less demanding tasks but may not keep up with intense gaming scenarios.

The Gigabyte Aorus 17H is very good for engineering and design, while the HP Envy 17 is good.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H outshines the HP Envy 17 in engineering and design uses mainly due to its superior Nvidia RTX 4080 graphics processing unit and higher screen refresh rate, which are crucial for complex visual tasks and fluid graphics work. Although both laptops share the same high-quality main processor and have ample RAM for demanding applications, the HP Envy 17 offers increased portability and touchscreen capabilities, which may benefit users looking for a more mobile and interactive experience.

The Gigabyte Aorus 17H has a better screen than the HP Envy 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H likely offers a high-resolution display and excellent brightness, making it suitable for daily tasks and providing clear visuals for engineering software, but its lower refresh rate affects smoothness in fast-paced games and 3D rendering. The HP Envy 17 is also equipped with a quality screen that offers sharp images and is bright enough for general and engineering uses, with accurate color representation essential for design work, but like the Aorus, it falls short in gaming due to a less optimal refresh rate. Both models prioritize color accuracy and resolution over gaming-centric features, opting for better productivity and creation-focused performance rather than catering to high-speed gaming demands.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 17H and the HP Envy 17 compare to other laptops
"Overall though, it’s *lots of swearing* fast, seriously. For work, rendering, gaming, it doesn’t matter, this is a true weapon of performance that’s going to run rings around most high-end desktop systems. If you absolutely have to game at ultra-high refresh rates on the go (but within thinking distance of a plug socket), this is the ticket. I can’t see such an extreme being that appealing to everyone, but if you take your gaming seriously, or even professionally, there’s nothing else out there that comes close that you can still fit in your backpack and travel with."
"In our test, the HP Envy 17-cr0079ng presents itself as a balanced multimedia laptop. Thanks to its solid CPU performance and dedicated entry-level GeForce, it can also be used for playing video games, as long as the demands aren't too high. Those looking for more can find it in the Dell XPS 17 for example."
