If you prioritize portability and modern features like a higher refresh rate display, the MSI Stealth GS66 with its lighter weight and Thunderbolt 4 ports would be the better choice. However, if you prefer a larger screen size for productivity and gaming, along with a full-sized keyboard that includes a number pad, the Gigabyte Aorus 17G would be more suitable. Both have similar performance capabilities with powerful processors and high-end graphics, but the Aorus may offer slightly better heat management. The Stealth, running Windows 11 Pro, may have a slight edge in battery life, whereas the Aorus runs Windows 10 Home and might trail slightly behind in how long it can go between charges. How the Gigabyte Aorus 17G and the MSI Stealth GS66 compare to other laptops
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
"The MSI Stealth GS66 is powerful enough for QHD. The Core i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti found in the 12UGS model that we tested run all modern games smoothly in the native QHD resolution. The 15-inch display is very fast with its 240 Hz refresh rate, and it also offers a great color space (almost 100% DCI-P3) on top of that, which should please gamers as well as content creators, although we would have still wished for a higher brightness. Case, input devices, and connectivity (Thunderbolt 4) are at a good level. However, among other things, the GS66 loses points due to the high temperature development in 3D mode and its poor webcam."
