The Gigabyte Aorus 17G is a premium laptop with a high-end GPU, making it suitable for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks, but it's heavier which affects portability. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 is more budget-friendly, lighter, and offers decent performance for general use and engineering tasks, although it's not geared toward intensive gaming or 3D applications due to its integrated graphics. Both have the same storage and RAM, but the Aorus 17G has a much larger screen and battery capacity, which contributes to its heavier weight and shorter battery life. Choose the Aorus 17G for high performance in demanding tasks, or the MSI Modern 14 for affordability and easier carrying. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aorus 17G has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, the Gigabyte Aorus 17G's high resolution and brightness make it a superior choice, providing clear and vibrant visuals, whereas the MSI Modern 14's decent resolution and acceptable brightness offer a satisfactory but less exceptional experience. Engineering and design professionals will appreciate the Gigabyte Aorus 17G's wide color gamut, ensuring accurate color representation crucial for their work, something the MSI Modern 14's fair color range can't match as closely. However, for gamers and those working with 3D applications, the Gigabyte Aorus 17G's lower refresh rate may lead to less fluid motion compared to laptops designed specifically for gaming, regardless of its superior resolution and panel quality.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 17G and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
