The Gigabyte Aero 17 is designed for high-end performance with a larger screen and premium features suited for intensive tasks like engineering, 3D modeling, or gaming. Its larger size and weight mean it’s less portable than the Aero 5. The Aero 5 offers a midrange option with a slightly smaller screen and is more portable at a lower price point. Both have the same processor and graphics capabilities, but if you require a more transportable laptop and are looking to save money, consider the Aero 5. If screen size and top-tier features are mission-critical, and you're comfortable with a higher price, the Aero 17 is worth considering. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aero 17 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aero 5 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
Both the Gigabyte Aero 17 and Aero 5 have screens that deliver sharp, bright images with a wide range of colors, making them great for activities like browsing the web, working in office applications, or watching videos, which is why they excel in general use and engineering, where precise color reproduction is crucial. However, for gaming and 3D work, which benefit from fast screen refresh rates to ensure smooth motion and quick responsiveness, these laptops may not be the best fit as their strengths lie in high resolution and color accuracy rather than refresh performance.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Gigabyte Aero 17 to be very good for general use, while the Gigabyte Aero 5 is good.
The Gigabyte Aero 17 offers a larger, higher-quality Mini LED screen with a 17.3-inch display, which, combined with a powerful CPU and ample RAM, makes it suited for general use that demands a visually immersive experience, albeit at the cost of reduced portability due to its larger size and lower battery life. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aero 5, while slightly smaller with a 15.6-inch OLED display, also delivers high screen quality and performance thanks to the same CPU and RAM, yet it enhances portability with lighter weight and added battery life for users who prioritize mobility. Both laptops feature high-quality build and heat management systems, and the screen quality is top-notch, but the Aero 17 trades off some portability and battery life for a bigger and brighter display compared to the Aero 5 which balances performance with greater ease of carrying and longer usage away from a power source.

How the Gigabyte Aero 17 and the Gigabyte Aero 5 compare to other laptops
"Not only is the Aero 17 a very good laptop for gamers but also for content creators. With the upgrade to the Intel Core i9-11980HK, Gigabyte particularly improved the system performance. In addition, the hardware package is rounded by the extremely fast SSD and 32 GB of working memory in dual-channel mode. Compared to the predecessor, the battery life is reduced only moderately, and the 4K display also basically keeps its good qualities."
"It is unfortunate that the Gigabyte AERO notebook series have seem to lost its charm, as it’s not exactly any much different from the AORUS series now. Regardless, content creators and designers will certainly still appreciate the features on the AERO 5 XE4, which are fundamental to their work. This largely revolved around the notebook’s display, which is colour calibrated and validated, high resolution (4K) and with great AMOLED colour representation. Now that the AERO 5 XE4 has improved its performance with the latest CPU and GPU, the professionals can also appreciate the improved productivity from the notebook."
